In de Inklingo Yahoo Groep kreeg ik de tip van een website, www.quiltinghub.com. Die heeft een wereldwijd overzicht van quiltwinkels, quiltevenementen, quiltgildes, – groepen, producten en merken.
Je kunt heel handig zoeken op locatie en ook op route. Stel dat je een buitenlandse reis maakt, dan kun je opvragen welke quiltwinkels, tentoonstellingen etc. er te vinden zijn langs de route van A naar B.
Maar dit wereldwijde overzicht is nog niet compleet. Ik kon nog helemaal geen informatie vinden over winkels etc. in Nederland! Jammer, want het is echt een geweldige informatiebron.
Nog helemaal niets quilterigs te vinden tussen Rotterdam en Parijs, volgens Quilting Hub :-(
Vandaar dat ik dit op mijn blog zet. Het is de bedoeling dat actieve gebruikers van Quilt Hub het overzicht uitbreiden en actueel houden. Hoe het in grote lijnen werkt wordt uitgelegd in het filmpje hierboven (Engels gesproken).
Degene die deze website heeft opgezet, heeft volgens mij aan bijna alles gedacht. Bij elke winkel kun je contactinformatie vinden, openingstijden, wat voor soort producten en merken ze verkopen, hoe actueel deze informatie is, etc.
Iedereen kan een winkel, quiltgroep, tentoonstelling etc. aanmelden voor opname. Ik heb al wat suggesties gedaan.
Laten we het wereldwijde overzicht compleet maken!

Hmm…. A trip from New York to Burlington, ON could take me longer than I expected! :-) Lots of quilty stuff along the route.
In the Inklingo Yahoo Group I got a tip about a website, www.quiltinghub.com. It has a world wide overview of quilt shops, quilting events, quilt groups, products and brands.
You can search by location, and also, very handy, by a route. Suppose you are making a trip into unknown territory, you can find out which quilt shops, exhibits etc. there are along the route from A to B.
The world wide overview is not yet complete, however. I was unable to find any information on shops etc. in The Netherlands! That’s a shame, because it is a great resource.
So I thought I would put this on my blog. Quilting Hub is aiming for active users that will add information and keep the overview up to date. How it works is explained in the video at the top of this post.
The person that has made this website, has thought of everything if you ask me. With each shop you can find contact information, opening hours, the kind of products and brands they carry, when the information was last checked for being up to date, etc.
Anyone can suggest a quilt shop, quilt guild, quilt show, etc. that is not yet listed. I have already done some suggestions.
Let’s make this global overview complete!
